一、指导思想

In recent years, the teaching of English in elementary schools has been continuously improved, and we have obtained great achievements through continuous development for growth and progress. Through teaching at the elementary level, we aim to continuously improve the quality of English teaching and learn from our experiences, striving to create a favorable learning environment for students to develop their English learning skills further.
二、主要工作
(一)拓宽发展渠道,促进学科建设
1、 Continuously improve the importance of English in education. The capacity of elementary school English textbooks has grown increasingly, difficulty increases as more classes and lessons are conducted. With sufficient weekly English classes, we need to ensure that students have enough free time to engage with foreign language learning each day. We should provide a sufficient amount of early-grade English and supplementary classes to meet the needs of students.
2、 Strengthen the connection between elementary and secondary levels in English teaching. If there is little understanding between elementary and secondary school teachers, it may cause students to fall behind or repeat lessons, making them lose interest in learning. Therefore, we need to strengthen communication and cooperation among elementary and secondary schools through discussions and exchanges. This year will hold a discussion meeting between elementary and secondary schools to facilitate mutual learning and exchange of ideas.
3、 Build online platforms. Strengthen the construction of pages on elementary school website, adjust the content structure, enhance the variety of content, provide teaching resources for teachers to share and learn together through online learning and interaction features such as the rowing forum. Through this platform, we can better adapt to changes in education reforms.
(二)加强理论学习,更新教师观念
1、 Since the new curriculum experiments began in primary grades, teachers are still relatively unfamiliar with English teaching concepts. To better update teaching methods, teachers need to learn more about the spirit of curriculum reform and the importance of teaching, focus on the overall role of teaching in education, and actively participate in current teaching research studies; pay attention to how to effectively convert theoretical knowledge into practical teaching actions.
2、 Dose comprehensive study of English teaching theories to improve their effectiveness and focus. Study articles on English teaching research journals and engage in participatory discussions, focusing on the specifics of textbook reading.
3、 Further implement the guidelines from the Ministry of Education regarding opening secondary language courses for elementary schools and the basic requirements for English teaching in primary grades, ensuring that primary school students learn to study English with interest, develop their love for learning, cultivate good learning habits, and establish a foundation for simple daily communication skills.
(三)落实教学常规,提高教学效益
1、 Deeply implement the six认真 work requirements of elementary teachers. This year will focus on three aspects that are significant: exploring collective teaching activities, improving teacher-practitioner relationships, and enhancing teacher-practice research. Specifically, we will adopt various approaches to improve teaching practice, such as: ⑴ Try collective planning. For primary school teachers with young ages and inadequate experience, we will try group planning in cooperation with other elementary schools. Each school will be responsible for one or two units of lesson plans to ensure that lessons are organized better, the format is consistent, and the content is precise. After the lesson is reviewed by the教研组, it can be approved and distributed to each school;
⑵ Improve on-the-spot teaching. At the beginning of each unit, we will conduct research on English teaching research journals and other articles with specific contents, focusing on textbook reading, aiming for students in primary grades to learn English with interest, develop their love for learning, cultivate good speech and pronunciation habits, establish a foundation for using English in simple daily exchanges.
2、 Improve classroom teaching methods. This year will focus on the following aspects:
⑴ Establish teaching strategies based on student-centered education. Focus on students' development interests, engage them in activities such as role-playing, simulation, and practical communication; use physical models, images, gestures, visual aids, and performance-based learning to make lessons more engaging and effective.
⑵ Use task-based methods. Emphasize the application of language skills in activities that promote student engagement through task-based activities. Encourage students to participate in activities by setting tasks such as problem-solving or practical problems.
3、 Strengthen evaluation research. The teaching of English is not just about rote memorization but also about fostering interest, knowledge retention, and skill development. Teachers must improve their quality consciousness and focus on studying how to encourage students to learn more effectively through testing. In the process of evaluating student learning, teachers should pay attention to the form that matches the age特点, requirements for textbook, difficulty level, and assessment standards to ensure an acceptable evaluation ratio. To evaluate accurately, teachers should adopt formative evaluation methods and research detection methods based on textbooks; analyze test results from different angles to provide feedback and analysis for improvement.
4、 Guide teaching within the guidance of research. The teaching coach will continuously study and improve testing methods, tasks, materials, and evaluation approaches in the process of evaluating student learning, providing guidance and support for teachers during evaluation.
(四)总结与展望
We will summarize the achievements and lessons learned from this academic year and set a goal for next year. In addition to increasing teacher-practice research, we will further explore teaching methods based on curriculum development and practical classroom experiences. Together with other schools in the region, we will develop joint projects in language education, aiming to better adapt to changes in education reforms and improve teaching quality.
