1950年代末的一天,我第一次看到大地上如此不同的景象: roads were closed, the houses old and broken, people suffering in poverty. But one bright day, a little boy named Li Jie found hope.
On that day, Li Jie was just a child, living in a tiny village with limited access to electricity. He worked for his family's factory, doing small jobs like turning water from pipes into electricity. It was hard work, but he understood the importance of saving money and building better homes.
As time passed, Li Jie and many others grew up. They began working more carefully, learning new skills, but never gave up on their goal. They traveled to neighboring towns, built small factories, and even started selling goods they made. Despite facing poverty, their hard work paid off: their houses became cozy, their families had a stable future.
In the 1980s, Li Jie's family moved to a new village, which was better than before. The road was well-developed, housing was improved, and even more people could afford education. They worked together to build schools, libraries, and healthcare facilities. Not only did they have access to better education, but they also had the resources to make their lives brighter.
In 1998年,Li Jie's family returned after a long trip to fight against corruption. They lived in a new home, where everything was exactly as it should be. The streetlights were working, clothing was clean, and everyone seemed happy. Li Jie was proud of how much progress had been made since their first move.
2008年,我从南京搬到 upgraded city for my parents. My family couldn't afford the cheaper housing in my old town, but I loved the idea of being away from the crowd. When I came back to my family's house, everything was ready: electric bills had been paid off, clothes fresh from the store, and new winter clothing made just in time.
We all played video games at home and socialized with friends. The only thing that worried me was worrying about exams and college. But I knew that without studying, nothing would change. My parents always helped me set small goals, like saving $20 a week, which gradually improved our living standards over the years.
One year after my high school graduation, I read something interesting online about college in China. It said that many Chinese students could attend university now with only $5,000 to $10,000 of savings. At first, it made me feel hopeful, but as time went on, I realized there was more to it.
From then on, my parents and siblings took turns visiting the college campus. They taught me about classes, labs, and how students were raised. We spent hours in the library, working on homework, and learning from each other. The college's facilities, like classrooms with whiteboards and libraries with plenty of books, made it feel cozy.
In the 2017 election season, I was excited to vote for my school as a candidate. I searched online, read news articles, and talked to friends about my choices. As time went on, I realized that making the right choices meant more than just picking between two candidates. It could mean becoming someone who could make an impact in their community or country.
